“In November, SystemiQ’s Allison McDonald delivered a presentation at the International Railway Safety Conference in Perth. The conference theme was “Innovation and Technology: Changing the Future of Rail Safety”, and presenters discussed new rail technology, the emerging challenges of human-system integration in automated systems, and how to build skills and competence in a more automated industry. Allison’s paper, “Re-thinking Competency Based Training” focused on the development of underlying competencies, and needs-based, data-driven training to develop resilient performance among future safety-critical workers.”
